Cops have started an investigation into an incident at John Wayne airport when the star climbed onto a wing of a flight
Tom Cruise seen dangling from airplane wing while filming ‘Mission: Impossible 8’
Tom Cruise has sparked a police investigation after being spotted dangling from the wing of a plane during filming of his latest Mission: Impossible movie in Santa Ana, California.
Witnesses at John Wayne airport, where the action movie was being shot, say they spotted the actor climbing onto the wing of an airplane as part of filming for Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The SkyTrax film ranking tracker reported that, as well as filming the Mission: Impossible film, Cruise is also involved in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
People on the ground reported seeing Cruise’s stunt and contacted the authorities. Upon investigation a police officer spotted Cruise on a set of lights but it is not clear if his costume was visible to the onlookers. A spokeswoman for Santa Ana police said: “Officer Morales was on scene when the actor was spotted attempting to film. He is currently investigating the incident.”
Cruise has been a well-known advocate for dog training, prompting him to buy guide dogs for two of his children with Nicole Kidman.
In 2015, after Cruise suffered a concussion while filming Mission: Impossible 5 in Austria, he described hanging onto the fuselage of a Boeing 707 as “the scariest thing I have ever done in my life”.
